Midlife Health and Happiness

This post is written for women in their mid-life stage.  When I was in my early 40s, I started to feel subtle change in my body: First, irregular periods, then age spot, after that, insomnia, followed by migraine.  I had no idea what was happening to me until I googled.  It was the first time I learned about perimenopause.  So, I’m writing this so you, my dear readers, do not have to go through some painful changes in your body.  Some women’s health expert stated that taking care of yourself in the perimenopause stage determines how much you enjoy your life from this point on.  So, let’s begin on how to care for yourself as you experience mid-life.

Eat Healthy

There are many resources out there on the web you can find.  Out of the wide selections, I found Dr. Lara Briden’s book Hormone Repair Manual most helpful to me.  I read the book and carefully followed the suggested dietary supplements recommended in the book and it’s been a life changer.  However, what works for me may not work for you, so you’ll need to try them out before claiming them your life savers.

The nirvana in perimenopause stage is restful sleep, good mood and boosted energy.  These remedies from the Hormone Repair Manual have been a charm for me: Glycine (in powder) promotes restful sleep.  Magnesium Bisglycinate (also powder) boosts energy and Taurine (in powder) helps with healthy visual function.  I take them first thing in the morning before breakfast and it’s become a habit.  These three has been armor to help insulate me from insomnia and migraine.
